Originally written for the UK Songwriting Competition, as a sort of love song. The original recording was made while on holiday. I played it to my wife, who immediately said ‘Stalker song!’. So, since then it has been affectionately known as that. By the way, it made the semi-finals of the competition. So someone had a great sense of humour, or the stalking tone passed them by!
lyrics
If I knew your name, I’d write it in the sand
And let the waves wash it out to sea
I’d follow you, wherever you go
If I knew your house, I’d bring you a rose
And tell you just how you make me feel
I’d follow you, wherever you go
If I had your number, I’d give you a call
And talk to you all night long
I’d follow you, wherever you go
I want to hold your hand in mine
Touch your hair and gaze into your eyes
I think of you, wherever you go
If I knew your name, I’d write it in the sand
And let the waves wash it out to sea
I’d follow you, wherever you go
I’d follow you, wherever I go
