Originally written in 1997, and then rewritten at each general election, this song asks the question 'What are you going to do to get me to vote for you?'. It is not politically bias, as many of the issues I wrote about in 1997 are still happening today, along with a host off new ones!

Everything you do, fills us with fear
You’re selling off our N H S
Turning your back on the energy crisis
Is this what you’re doing to get our vote this year


You’ve been burying the truth for too long
Austerity, Covid and borrowing, you got it so wrong
The things we care for, you’ve failed to address
And guess who’s gonna suffer in all of this mess…

Sometimes we feel blue (vote for me)
Sometimes we see red (vote for me)
Most of the time you sit on the fence
Can’t you see what we’re up against?


You’re buying second homes we can’t afford
Our jobs are not safe and controlled from abroad
Zero hour contracts, on minimum wage
Food banks struggling every day
But still you want us to vote for you this year


You don’t understand, we’re tired of your lies
You cheat and deceive, but never loose your smile


What you gonna do to try and make a stand
Put global warming at the top of your plan
Tax multinationals who hide all their funds
Tackle crime, and invest in education
Our vote is really important to you this year

Stop awarding contracts, to all your friends
So when I make a cross who should we choose
